Dirham (Silver, 27 mm, 2.88 g, 11 h), citing Ahmad ibn Abd al-Aziz, the Abbasid heir appararent al-Muwaffaq with his full name as 'al-Nasir li-Din Allah al-Muwaffaq billah' and Sa'id ibn Makhlad with his title 'Dhu'l Riyasatayn' (holder of the two ministries), Shiraz, AH 271 = AD 884/5. Album 1398. A very rare variety citing al-Muwaffaq with his title 'al-Nasir li-Din Allah', which he received after the victory over the Zanj rebellions, a series of revolts of Bantu speaking slaves from Sub-Saharan Africa. Struck from slightly worn dies and with some marks, otherwise, good very fine.
